An All Girl Overnight Slumber Party – You’re Never Too Old

When was the last time you actually had a slumber party? Many people associate a slumber party with your young teenage years or even younger. However, having an all girl overnight slumber party can be the perfect way to transition from being a young girl to a young woman.

You can start the day off with a day at the beach, swimming, sailing or scuba diving. Perhaps it is the day to do something adventurous that you have wanted to do your entire life, but could never get your parents to agree too, such as parachuting from a plane or windsurfing.

After that, have a luncheon at your favourite gathering place or an early dinner at someplace informal and then head back to the guest of honours home. You can choose to go out for a few hours at the local sports lounge or dancing hall, let your hair down and just be girls! Dance, party and have a lot of laughs. When the evening is winding down for everyone else, this is when things are just getting started for you and your friends.

It is time to start the all night talk-a-thon. Time to spend the night eating ice cream, chips, and all those delicious snack foods that normally you hide from the world. Spend the time dancing in your pajamas to your favourite music, telling stories from your childhood, all the silly things you did as little girls and eventually transition into the things you want to accomplish in your lives as adults. Brush each other’s hair, paint each other’s nails and try out new make-up techniques. An overall blast when you have anywhere from 4 to 10 females all in the same place for an extended period of time.

Maybe, before the sun comes up, you may all or a few of you may fall off to sleep. The morning sun coming up will bring time for a breakfast made for royalty. Go into the kitchen and make all the things that are everyone’s favourites. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and anything else you can think of.

It will probably be the last time that you have a good old-fashioned slumber party for many years to come – or until your own little girls eventually have their first. Enjoy it. This is the time when you are leaving your childhood ways and moving into being a young woman. There is nothing that says you cannot do so in a way that combines the two in such an intricate manner.
